The Reading Phillies are
the Class Double-A, Eastern League affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
When the Phillies decided to end their relationship
with the Macon Peaches of the Southern League, Philadelphia began one of the longest current relationships in Minor League
Baseball. Accoring to the Reading Phillies, of the 118 minor league clubs affiliated with a MLB team in 1967, only Reading
and three other teams had remained affiliated together as of 2004.
